Dear Friends and Neighbors,

As the air softens and the first blossoms of spring begin to color our city, we find ourselves filled with a renewed sense of purpose and hope here at Central Topeka Grocery Oasis.

Spring is a season of growth, of potential made visible—and this year, it's especially meaningful. As the trees bud and gardens stir, so too does our mission gain momentum. We’re moving forward with strength and clarity in our capital campaign, fueled by community generosity and determination. Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to opening the doors of a much-needed grocery store in the heart of Central Topeka.

We are also thrilled to welcome new board members who bring fresh energy, vision, and a shared commitment to food justice. Their leadership will guide us through this critical phase and deepen our roots in the neighborhoods we serve.

This season, we are not only witnessing the signs of change, we are part of it. From conversations with neighbors to partnerships with local organizations, we are making real inroads that will have a lasting impact. Each connection, each act of support, reaffirms the truth we hold close: community is everything. And this community deserves access to healthy, affordable food.

In every seed planted, every volunteer hour, and every generous gift, we see the many forms of gratitude and love that sustain this movement. Together, we’re not just building a grocery store, we’re creating a cornerstone for health, dignity, and connection in Central Topeka.

Let’s carry that spirit into the head of the season, blooming with the belief that we can, and will, make a lasting difference for our city and its people.

With hope, I offer this issue as more than just an update, it’s a gentle reminder. A reminder to pause and appreciate the beauty of our city in bloom, to check in with our physical and mental well-being, and to recognize the quiet goodness that surrounds us every day.

Spring invites us to be mindful, to be present, and to give—whether that’s time, kindness, support, or simply a smile to a neighbor. In this season of generosity, let us lean into the small moments that connect us and the shared vision that drives us.

As always, thank you for walking this journey with us. Your belief in the mission of Central Topeka Grocery Oasis keeps us moving forward—with open hands, open hearts, and a community spirit that grows stronger every day.

Warmly,

Nadia Arbelo
